Full Super Moon in Aquarius
The full moon is a powerful time of transformation and letting go. The sign that the moon is in gives us clues on how best to work with its energy. This particular full moon is a supermoon, which means it’s closer to Earth, so we’ll feel its effects even more.
Aquarius is one of my favorite signs because it's all about unapologetically being yourself. It's the sign of the individual and humanitarianism, which means that being your fully and uniquely expressed self serves the whole. As we all do this, the world becomes a beautiful tapestry of our collective journeys.
Aquarius is an air sign, which is about the mind. So if you find yourself getting caught up in your thoughts, take a step back and ask yourself if they're helpful or sabotaging you. You are not your thoughts, so you get to choose what you think. Be intentional about what's going on in your head. The full moon is inviting you to release any thinking patterns that limit you.
Aquarius brings the gift of truth. Find clarity and direction by asking yourself, "what's the most true thing for me right now?"
Above all, make time to quiet your mind, connect to your body, intuition, and inner wisdom.
A Full Moon Ceremony to Release What No Longer Serves You
Doing regular moon ceremonies helps you connect to your intuition while keeping you in harmony with the cycles of nature. A moon ceremony helps you sort through your thoughts and let go of anything that doesn’t support your truest self. It doesn't have to be elaborate. The most important thing is that you listen, trust, and follow your intuition. Use this as a guide and modify it in any way that feels best to you.
Step 1: Light a Candle.
Light a candle to declare sacred space, to call in the light, and as a reminder to be the light.
Step 2: Write down what you'd like to let go of.
This can be one thing or a long list. Think about your truest self and desires, and what’s misaligned with them. For example, if you're committed to being in a healthy, loving partnership, dating an avoidant person is misaligned. In this case, you might write down something like, "I release the part of me that's attracted to and attracts avoidant people."
Step 3: Rip up the paper with the intention, "I release all these things for my highest good."
As you rip up the paper, visualize yourself letting go of these things and creating space for new possibilities. Throw the paper away. The most important thing here is your intention to let go.
Step 4: Cleanse the energy.
Aquarius is the air element, so smoke is a good way to cleanse the energy around you. You can use incense, or another type of smoke. As you swirl the smoke around you, visualize all negativity and limitations falling away.
Step 5: Take a moment for gratitude.
Place your hands over your heart, eyes closed, and just say thank you for what you're grateful for at this moment. Gratitude is an easy way to raise your vibration and embody the energy of your ritual.
Step 6: Blow out the candle.
This symbolizes the completion of the ceremony.
Your full moon ceremony is complete!
